Ray also mentioned that he noticed improvements in the gussets and welds, the “beefier” cylinders, as well as the rotation itself. He also commented that the new generation log grapple closes significantly tighter than his old model did. Ray does a lot of pull through delimbing and on his previous log grapple he needed to weld shims in place to make it close tight enough for the smaller sized logs to stay clenched within the jaws while being pulled through the delimber. With his new grapple he has no issues. Ray purchased the 4560SHD RT1004 from Dale McElroy at Modern Machinery in Eugene, OR. He has been dealing with Modern Machinery for over 12 years and has purchased numerous machines and attachments through them. He likes how readily available the parts are. In his experience if it is something that Modern doesn’t have on the shelf it has made it to him within days from Rotobec West. This is not the first Rotobec product Ray has owned. This grapple actually replaced an older 4560 that has now been rebuilt and is currently being run by a good friend of Ray’s. Ray plans to continue using Rotobec for all of his attachment needs, but doesn’t anticipate having to replace his new 4560SHD for quite some time, in fact he believes it will out live the machine!
